Abstract
In this recording, Amber Smith-Fillingim interviews Sherrill Vines about her experience as a student at the University of South Alabama in the 1970s. Ms. Vines reflects on her time living in Alpha Hall East, and explains how the school offered a safe space for young minds to grow and mature. She praises the instructors she learned from and describes her time living in Mobile, appreciating its rich history. Ms. Vines speaks highly of the food in the cafeteria and recalls that it was a social place to mingle with friends. She also explains that as the school grew more popular, some students were housed off-campus at Brookley.
