Abstract

In this recording, Amber Fillingim speaks with Keith Sterne about his experience living in the Alpha Hall dorms in the 1970s. He reports that the proximity to other students made living in the dorms enjoyable, and that there was always someone to hang out with. He recalls having a larger dorm room on the end, which became a popular hangout spot among the residents. Majoring in Accounting, Mr. Sterne speaks highly of a professor he looked up to and who encouraged him during his time as a student. He also mentions Coach Eddie Stanky and explains that baseball was a big sport on campus. Mr. Sterne describes trips to Gulf Shores and Dauphin Island, and other popular places that students would frequent off campus.
