Abstract
In this recording, Amber Fillingim interviews Lenus Perkins about his time as a student at the University of South Alabama in the 1980s. Mr. Perkins explains that he was an international student from Liberia, and living in the Alpha Hall dorms gave him the opportunity to meet other people and make friends quickly. He was also paired with a host family through a local church, and they helped him integrate into society. Mr. Perkins studied civil engineering and recalls spending a lot of time in the engineering library. Years after graduating, Mr. Perkins was invited to join the Board of Trustees and currently serves as Board Secretary today.
