Abstract
In this recording, Martha Hughes is interviewed by Ryan Morini of the McCall Library at the University of South Alabama. This interview begins with Ms. Hughes mentioning her music scholarship as a clarinet player that influenced her decision to attend the University of South Alabama. She describes the arrangement of the Alpha dorms where she lived her freshman year and talks about where and how students spent free time. Ms. Hughes tells the story of a prank and how she met her husband. She recounts her experience of the decision to major in criminal justice and mentions Dr. Anderson’s guidance during her time at South. She discusses how a professor taught her a study technique that she used the rest of her time there as well. Ms. Hughes then gives credit to South and to Dr. Anderson for an internship with the Secret Service that led to her career with the agency for 10 years.
