Aims & Scope

Alabama Libraries is an open access journal that publishes peer-reviewed articles and other scholarly information of relevance to Alabama’s library community twice per year. Submissions are invited for guest editorials, articles, and for reviews of books and digital materials. All content must be relevant to librarianship to Alabama.

Submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process. Each submission, containing no biographical information related to the author(s), is sent to two reviewers. We make every effort to eliminate the possibility of bias in reviews by utilizing this double-blind peer review process. After it has been reviewed and proofread, each submission is then sent back to the author for revisions if changes are necessary. Submissions are accepted on a continual basis and may be written by librarians outside our state as long as they contain relevance to librarianship in Alabama.

While membership in the Alabama Library Association is encouraged, it is not required at this time.
