Description
This is a photo of Walter Bellingrath's fishing lodge, Belle Camp, in the 1940s. This was used as a summer recreation spot for the Bellingraths before the property was developed into the Gardens.
This image shows a broad, wood-sided, one-storied house surrounded by a thick growth of trees and shrubs native to south Alabama. A sidewalk runs along the side and front of the house made from tile pave stones with landscaped flowerbeds on either side of the sidewalk.
