Strategies to Support High Academic Integrity in an Online Graduate Program

    Amy Campbell

Universities worldwide are struggling to deal with academic misconduct related to plagiarism and increased concerns with plagiarism in online courses. At this roundtable discussion, participants will explore strategies used to eliminate plagiarism activities in an online graduate-level course by providing clear expectations regarding quality of work, quick identification and warning of identified ‘missteps’ committed by the student, grace, and resources provided to support the writing skills of students, a modified format approach to assignments, and relationship building through video feedback. The author will engage the audience through an interactive activity of positive criticism of their own work. At the end of this round table, attendees will have an overview of how to implement several interventions that could be employed to guide the student toward high academic integrity.
