Abstract
In this interview, Donald Parker is interviewed by Alisha Palmer over Zoom about his memories of the Down the Bay community. Mr. Parker relates his family history extending back over several generations, and describes the neighborhood that he grew up in, including nearby businesses and community members. He shares some memories of the foods he grew up with, and his educational experiences at St. Peter Claver, Heart of Mary, and the public school system. Mr. Parker describes holidays and celebrations in Mobile, such as Mardi Gras and Christmas, and closes with some more genealogical reflections.
