Abstract
In this interview, Mixon McCants is interviewed by Kern Jackson at the Texas Street Rec about his memories of growing up in the Down the Bay community. Mr. McCants reflects on his experiences at Council Elementary and Williamson High School and how they shaped him, and shares some of his family history. He describes the neighborhood he grew up in, naming community leaders, businesses, and major institutions.
