Abstract
Substance use disorders remain a significant public health concern and are commonly encountered across healthcare settings. Nursing and occupational therapy professionals frequently care for patients affected by substance use disorders, making it essential that students are prepared to provide safe, evidence-based, and compassionate care. However, students’ attitudes, experiences, education, and knowledge may influence their confidence and ability to work with this population. The purpose of this study was to examine the attitudes, perceptions, and knowledge of nursing and occupational therapy students regarding substance use disorders and to identify areas where additional education may be beneficial.
