Analysis of an Individual's Risk Associated with Socially Responsible Investment
Abstract
In this study, I examine the connection between risk aversion and socially responsible investing using a survey that analyzes the participants' decisions between a clearly framed socially responsible mutual fund and a clearly framed conventional mutual fund. I test the validity of the hypothesis that a more risk averse individual is more likely to select the socially responsible firm.
