JagWorks Content Accessibility Guidelines

The JagWorks@USA Institutional Repository is committed to providing equal access to its content for all users with and without disabilities in compliance with the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards for accessible design. To meet these standards, all content submitted to the repository must follow the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAC) 2.2.

According to the WCAC guidelines, all content must be perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust. This means that all content must offer text alternatives for non-text content, captions, and other alternatives for multimedia content, and be able to be presented in different ways without losing meaning. Additionally, all functionality must be available from a keyboard, and content must be easily understandable, predictable, and help users avoid and correct mistakes. Lastly, content must be robust enough to maximize compatibility with current and future user tools.

To make your IR content accessible, please refer to the following link for instructions and resources on creating accessible IR documents and media: Creating Accessible Documents in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (Windows and Mac options available).
