U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Hurricane Frederic Photographic Collection

 

Herbert Greene III was an American Cinematographer for the United States Army Corps of Engineers. Greene started a film project with the Army Corps of Engineers to document and film the construction of the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway. During this project, Hurricane Frederic struck the Gulf Coast of Alabama. Following Hurricane Frederic, Greene documented the destruction left in the wake of the hurricane.
