Abstract
In this interview, David Smoots is interviewed by Jada Jones and Ryan Morini at his home Down the Bay. Mr. Smoots describes some of the adventures he had growing up Down the Bay, and some of the people and the businesses he remembers. He also describes experiences swimming in the bay and playing sports, and outlines the basic boundaries of the neighborhood as he understood them. Mr. Smoots offers reflections on some of his and his peers’ favorite places to eat in those days, which they funded by saving up lunch money. He also discusses his experiences in the US military during the Vietnam War.
