Abstract
In this interview, Thomas Withers is interviewed by Kern Jackson at the James Seals Jr. Park and Community Center in Mobile, Alabama; they are joined by Eric Finley partway through the interview. Mr. Withers begins describing his membership in the Mobile Area Mardi Gras Association, and then talks about growing up Down the Bay. He discusses Mardi Gras history, and talks about the history of his family. He also talks about sports, particularly playing baseball. When Mr. Finley joins, they begin discussing territoriality and the boundaries of Down the Bay, and then the conversation ranges through the previous topics and new ones, focusing on particular episodes and adventures.
