Abstract
In this interview, Jackie Baker Wingfield is interviewed by Kern Jackson at her restaurant, Saucy Q Bar B Q, in Mobile, Alabama. Ms. Wingfield describes growing up Down the Bay, and living for part of her adulthood in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She also relates some of the history about how her family came to Mobile. Ms. Wingfield discusses a number of the people and the businesses from Down the Bay, and some of the social and historical dynamics of the neighborhood.
