Abstract
In this interview, Edward Johnson is interviewed by Adriana Caffey and Christian Moore at the Marx Library at the University of South Alabama. Mr. Johnson describes his experiences growing up Down the Bay, and relates some of his family history in relation to Mobile and Mon Louis Island. He also discusses attending Peter Claver Elementary School in his youth, and describes the sense of community that he knew Down the Bay, as well as memories regarding the Civil Rights Movement in Mobile. Mr. Johnson concludes by mentioning some of the hurricanes that hit the neighborhood.
