Abstract

In this interview, Edward Henson and Harvey Turner are interviewed by Kern Jackson, Eric Finley, and Rachel Hines as they drive around the Down the Bay community in the tour van for the Dora Finley African American Heritage Trail. Mr. Henson and Mr. Turner share memories and reflections regarding growing up in the Down the Bay community, pointing out landmarks that they remember and sharing stories that relate to them, and commenting on changes they’ve observed in the neighborhood. They discuss some of the cultural and social dynamics of the community as they’ve known it, and celebrate the joys and achievements of the community as the van carries them along the streets.
