Abstract
In this interview, Andrew Jackson Sr. is interviewed by Kern Jackson in Mobile, Alabama. Mr. Jackson describes his experiences growing up Down the Bay, and also relates his family history stretching from Epes, Alabama. He reflects on the impacts of urban renewal on Down the Bay, and discusses his and his father’s different sources of employment and some of the labor history in the community. Mr. Jackson also describes his experiences traveling “up the country.” He discusses his experiences in the US military, and some of the history he witnessed at his church, Mt. Sinai.
