Abstract
In this interview, Brenda Patterson is interviewed by Kern Jackson in Mobile, Alabama. Ms. Patterson describes her experiences growing up in the Africatown community, and some of the people and places that comprised the community. One institution in particular that she focuses on is Mobile County Training School. She also describes her family’s move to the Maysville neighborhood of Mobile. At the time of the interview, Ms. Patterson was a member of Prince of Peace church, which is located Down the Bay.
