Abstract
In this interview, Jerry Martin Lett is interviewed by Ryan Morini over Zoom about his memories of growing up in the Down the Bay community. Dr. Lett describes being born in the house he grew up in on Washington Avenue, and describes the household dynamics he recalls. He also shares memories of the neighborhood, including his childhood jobs of gathering pecans and raking leaves, and mentions some of the businesses he remembers from that time, as well as some of the teachers who helped to sustain his lifelong love of math and numbers. Dr. Lett also shares some of his experiences in the Air Force, and the path that led him to his current research and accounting work at Georgia Tech.
