Abstract
In this interview, Jonathan Nickles is interviewed by Alisha Palmer over Zoom about his memories of the Down the Bay community. Mr. Nickles describes the house he grew up in, and discusses the neighborhood, including local businesses and landmarks and the cultural and social dynamics that they fostered. He also talks about some of the celebrities and famous figures who originated Down the Bay, including athletes and entertainers. Mr. Nickles reflects on the impacts of I-10 and urban renewal, and discusses changes he has seen in the neighborhood after that time.
