Abstract
In this interview, Mike Bunn, director of Historic Blakeley State Park, speaks with Ruby Staten, Kathy Cooke, Candice Fairchild, and Lex McKinnell about the cultural and historical palimpsest represented by the park, and the general area surrounding Blakeley Bluff. The first half of the interview is audio-only, and was recorded during a driving tour that Mr. Bunn gave to the interviewers. The second part was a sit-down interview videorecorded indoors. Much of the interview focuses on the Civil War history featured at the park, as well as the partially-reconstructed historic Blakeley townsite. Some also deals with the Indigenous history of the park. Director Bunn also discusses some of the material culture on the site— particularly Civil War minié balls—and the ways people have interacted with the park itself.
