The Blakeley Bluff Oral History Project was conducted by Dr. Kathy Cooke, Dr. Kern Jackson, and the 2019 Honors College Summer Undergraduate Research Fellows at the University of South Alabama. Centered on Blakeley Bluff in the Mobile-Tensaw River Delta, the project explores the historical complexity of the cultural and ecological diversity in the delta, featuring 14 interviews with a variety of residents of the area, as well as writers and other professionals whose work engages with the area. This project was funded by the Alabama Humanities Foundation and the David Mathews Center for Civic Life. Most of the interviews were videorecorded.
The files below are the interviews as they are catalogued in this collection at the McCall Library. Please note that what is listed as the "date of publication" in the description of each interview indicates the date that the interview was recorded.
