Abstract

In this recording, Sue Brannan Walker is interviewed by Kathy Cooke and Candice Fairchild about her connection to Blakeley Bluff and the Mobile-Tensaw Delta. Ms. Walker is a poet at the University of South Alabama, and describes growing up in Magnolia Springs, Alabama, and much of the interview centers around the interviews and explorations she herself undertook in writing her book, In the Realm of Rivers: Alabama’s Mobile-Tensaw River Delta. Dr. Walker describes the meanings of the Mobile-Tensaw Delta as she understands it, and discusses some of the changes it has undergone since her last visit—including the then-underway work to reconstruction portions of the historic town of Blakeley. She also reads an excerpt of her work.
